English Comp II: Research Topics
1. New Technologies/Advances for Medicinal purposes made in the last 5 years. More specifically in stem cells research advancements and the benefits to treatment it could provide in various diseases.
a. This topic has always interested me because I want to go into the medical field and it is interesting to see the progress that has been made in health care- and the controversial topic of stem cells.
2. Immigration Laws Today compared to the past, and the numbers of illegal immigrants- how these two aspects correlate.
a. I’m interested to see how the regulations concerning immigration have evolved in the past decade since I moved here 14 years ago. Also, if the laws and regulations for immigration have gotten stricter, this could provide answers as to why there are more illegal immigrants. I wanted to look into what is being done to help decrease the numbers of illegal immigrants.
3. Increasing the driving age
a. There has been talk to put this law into effect, and how this would impact our society.
4. Genocide in Darfur – how more help and awareness is needed.
a. This genocide is still in action but little help is given from outside help. I wanted to research what is being done to end the genocide.
5. New Laws in Place concerning driving and cell phones, how well they are enforced and what the benefits are.
a. Different laws are being put in place in different states in regards to the use of cell phones and driving and I wanted to look into the effects of these actions more.
